Catalysing SDGs through
4 missions
The COVID-19 pandemic has wiped out six years of progress on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) globally, according to the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
To set the world back on track, UNDP has recommended a concerted global “SDG Push.” The UN believes there are four key areas to achieving this, which include governance, social protection, green economy, and digitisation.
eGov’s expertise lies in the combinatorial power of policy, technology, and ecosystems.

Urban
eGov’s urban mission has been working for nearly two decades with city and state governments in India to transform urban governance by identifying barriers to access and approaches to overcome them. Certified as a digital public good, the mission’s platform – Digital Infrastructure for Governance, Impact & Transformation (DIGIT) – has been implemented across 14 states to deliver timely and efficient local services to the citizens. The outcomes of our work in the urban mission have a strong link to SDGs 9, 11, 16, and 17, and are aimed at making cities and human settlements safe, resilient, and sustainable while building effective and accountable institutions.

Sanitation
Our work in the sanitation mission is fitting with the theme of
SDG 6 . We aim to support critical target areas of the SDG, which involves providing access to “adequate and equitable sanitation and hygiene for all” and ending open defecation, by 2030. The Digital Infrastructure for Sustainable and Healthy Habitats (DISHHA) is the mission’s platform that has been built as a digital public good and its first implementation is currently underway in the Indian state of Odisha. The platform aims to strengthen operational efficiency and performance monitoring of faecal sludge management, improve capacity planning and usage of physical infrastructure, enable easy compliance, and improve equity and access for marginalised communities.
Public Finance Management
Built as a digital public good that can enable real-time availability of financial information to stakeholders and improve the financial health of governments, the India Fiscal Information Exchange Platform or iFIX has been implemented in the Indian state of Punjab. It is facilitating coordination among multiple stakeholders while bringing accountability and efficiency. The mission is working towards the SDG 11 target of making cities and towns inclusive and resilient by creating a secure platform that enables the exchange of all financial information within the public financial management lifecycle.

Health
Help countries achieve health SDGs by building public digital goods that strengthen public health
The Digital Infrastructure for Verifiable Open Credentialing (DIVOC) is the health mission’s verifiable credentialing platform. It is certified as a “digital public good” by the Digital Public Goods Alliance (DPGA). DIVOC has been implemented in five countries, including India, Sri Lanka, Philippines, Jamaica, and Indonesia. Through the health mission, eGov aims to support SDG 3, covering key target areas. This includes “universal health coverage, providing access to quality healthcare services, as well as access to safe, effective, quality, and affordable essential medicines and vaccines for all.” We aim to achieve this by improving trust in health transactions, and by reducing “diseases of poverty.”
